I have a 1998 chevy malibu 6 cyl. 3.1 engine and have a pending po118 code. I have replaced the coolant engine temperature sensor twice and have checked the wires, all seem ok. The car starts up fine however, after shutting off the car will vat-560 not restart again for at least a half hour. The fuel injectors have been replaced and fuel pressure is good. My info says hard starting is a symptom of this.ecu reader code; ECT sensor Circuit voltage High The general diagnostic procedures that I got for this code indicate;1.) Possible poor ground connection of the sensor at the engine.2.) Possible short to ground of the power wire from the ecm to the sensor, hot w/ key-on.3.) Confirm all connections, test wires at all connections for power, resistance and continuity.
