April Open Swim!

The Cartoonist's League of Absurd Washingtonians (a group I am proud to be a founding member of) is presenting a lecture series as part of our popular Open Swim drawing sessions. Later this month I will be leading a class that will provide tips and tricks for how to create web comics and illustrations using Adobe Illustrator. The event is free and open to the public. Seating is limited so get there early.

24 Hour Comics Day pimping

Today I start pimping for 24 Hour Comics Day! I will be at Comic Book Ink Saturday for 24+ hours drawing. There will be interactive elements! More to come... including a promo and how to donate to the The Cartoonist's League of Absurd Washingtonians scholarship fund to help dictate the flow of my comic!

"Super" Chalk

This weekend I had the pleasure of being invited to participate in an art event at my favorite local comic book store, Tacoma's own COMIC BOOK INK. There several artists, myself and several of my fellow CLAW members, had 3 hours to draw a DC superhero to celebrate the relaunch of the DC Universe. I chose to draw the new armored Superman. This was done freehand with no underdrawing completely in chalk. It is also up against the other insanely good pieces of chalk art also created during the event in a contest in order to win CBI gift certificates. In order to vote in this contest you must 'LIKE' your favorite chalk piece on the COMIC BOOK INK Facebook fan page. This link will get you directly to my piece but I do urge you to look around at the other pieces of art and choose your favorites. Voting continues until the 9th.

I got me some local press

The local Tacoma indie paper did a write up of John Munn's quest for an Eisner. My efforts in securing that win are prominently displayed!

The SDCC Onesheet

Today's BE A HERO event

Today I was lucky enough to be part of the BE A HERO fundrasing event for my friend's comic book shop... COMIC BOOK INK. I was one of nine artist donating time and artwork to patrons that donated whatever they can to help the Cartoonists League of Absurd Washingtonians raise money to help out the shop. Halfway through the event a very generous patron donated over $200.00 for 9 Team Fortress 2 watercolor sketches. I was happy to make them. I am posting some, if not all of them here.
