I finished the Vampire: The Enternal Struggle card job this week. Can't show you any finishes...but I can tease you with this mashup. A dog, bones, a ghost, two FoS and a giovanni or two. Enjoy.

So glad I went to the Scalzi reading...

Turns out John Scalzi really dug my Consu pic. He posted it on his Whatever Blog and was even cool enough to link here. John Scalzi is the best. He writes cool books, looks good bald, has a cool name and digs my art. I'm so happy my wife and friend Dorene drug me out to that. I really wanted to go but I was feeling like death warmed over from a cold my little girl gave me. But I am so glad I went though. Scalzi took a picture before the reading. I am clearing visable in it.




That is me in the corner. I swear I was both excited to be there and in possession of a neck... I blame the kid cold for my appearance.

I am going to a John Scalzi book signing tonight and to commorate the event I drew a Consu from his first novel Old Man's War. I hope to get him to sign a copy. Anyway, here is my Consu.

Dethklok cameo discovered...

So I was browsing through the White-Wolf forums this morning, like I do every week, just to see if my art made a blip at all in digital dorkdom, and I come across this thread:

The fact that this thread exists is awesome. When I did my War against the Pure art I was contracted to this crowd shot...




...Which I believe I already posted on this blog in a WIP post (I did indeed...here: http://jamesstowe.blogspot.com/2007/02/process.html). While I was trying to fill out the background figures I decided to dump in the members of Dethklok from Adult Swim's Metalocalypse (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dethklok) cause I am a huge fan of the show.

It geeks me out that some WTF fans found it and made a thread about it. I need to start hiding more cameos in my work. And I need to start signing my stuff again. I have no idea why I stopped.
